We really love this buck! (Obviously he isn’t in his “show clothes” in this picture—he has OTHER things on his mind!) He is a really powerful boy—wonderfully correct front end, plenty of length and width and a beautifully proportioned head. His one fresh daughter (Verity) is gorgeous! Extremely high, wide escutcheon with a well balanced mammary and plenty of strength throughout without having lost any of the refinement of her dam.

We are excited to welcome D’Art back into our herd. We haven’t much feedback on progeny—so far it’s mostly boys I’m afraid! But his sire and dam have matured so well (Both appraised 90) that I look for good things from him! He is very correct on his feet and legs, strong over the top line and has a really good front end. For those of you who follow the national shows, we don’t need to say much about this Junior sire! (Remember Jambalya was National Champion Alpine 2005 and 2007) His dam “Verona” has won two championship legs as a two year old first freshener—at one show! She is very like her beautiful dam Tetrazzini owned by Dr. Lauren Acton DVM—very long and deep bodied. Beautiful mammary and general appearance. Thanks to Susan Long of Wind Ridge Farms for sharing this promising young buck!

Logan is the last son of Arcturus and Lydia. He looks very much like his sire and carries the bloodlines for producing beautiful productive mammaries as well as sound conformation. Basil is the first buck of our own breeding that we've chosen to retain. He is outstanding. He has the strong level top-line that I've admired in the "Avonlea" herd. He also is very wide throughout and stands on very good feet and legs. He is able to give that strength to his daughters-we freshened our first "Basil" daughter in spring 2005 and we’re very pleased!
